Ritz Club London: 12 months of London.

If you look at my website and social media, you will notice that I draw quite a lot of London architecture and also create calendars. Both this is thanks to Ritz Club London commissioning me to draw 12 London areas for their annual illustrated calendar a few years ago.

We have agreed to keep the style sketchy, mostly black and white with some bits of colour in key areas. I’ve made a list of most characteristic features of each location and proposed the roughs.

Each drawing required a lot of research and observations and took about 20 hours in average. We ended up having a composition with a circular window in the middle - it provided air and breathability to the designs.

The Ritz London Hotel itself had to occupy a kew place in Mayfair/St Jame’s illustration.

Here’s me presenting the. final pieces at The Ritz. They then passed them to their marketing team who were responsible for the calendars.

Some more details, because they are my favourite.

And the whole pieces. Unfortunately I didn’t get to keep the originals, so didn’t manage to take better pictures
