Ukraine

Before 2022 I used to consider myself an architectural and botanical illustrator, focusing mainly on the streets and buildings of London, British countryside and using occasional travel inspiration. The full scale invasion in Ukraine has changed the subject of my art: by using symbols of Ukraine, such as flowers, birds, food and colours, I started to try to visualise the essence of Ukrainian soul, the peaceful and poetic land that lives in our hearts.

In February 2022 when it was already a lot of tension and anxiety in the air, I filled the map of Ukraine with wildflowers. First four Ukrainain illustrations were born, followed by flowery trident (a coat of arms of Ukraine) and Madonna, surrounded by traditional plants and storks - a favourite bird of Ukrainians.

In the following months I drew more things that were accossiating with Ukraine in my mind and memories: food, building, decorations, books, musical instruments, cities… I tried to visualise traditions and crafts, and make emphasis on embroidery - something very dear to the soul of every Ukrainian person.

Just after I shared my first designs with my friends, I realised that there was a demand for clothes and accessories with beautiful Ukrainian symbols. Now you can find a lot of pretty pieces for any taste and budget, but then it was not that available in London, so I launched a Print On Demand shop with T-shirts, hoodies, bags - something that I would wear myself. And I do! Sometimes I feel like a walking Ukrainian merchandise. I am feel it’s important to remind people that Ukraine still needs their support, maybe more then ever.

You can get a T-shirt and a bag like mine too if you like them - or choose between many other designs in my shop: I’ve added phone cases, mugs and posters to my bestselling hoodies an T-shirts. All products wash well, are durable and are great conversation starters. I am personally wearing my tote bag every day for the last two years. If you follow me on Instagram, you will see me in my sweatshirt quite often too - it screams Ukraine all over it!
